General Appearance
Allium schubertii Zucc., it is a bulbous geophyte, 2-3 bulbs, rarely solitary, 1-2 cm in diameter; tunics papery, the outermost splitting into fibers. Leaves flat, wavy, lorate-Ianceolate 1-2.5 cm broad with rough margin, forming 3-5 cm long sheaths around the basal portion of scape. Scape up to 40 cm high, hollow at maturity; spathe short splitting into 2-3 valves; umbel many-flowered, polygamous; pedicels variable in length, the sterile ones 2-5 times as long as the fertile; floret segments, pink, lanceolate, acute. Stamens included.
