General Appearance

Allium longanum Pamp. Heterotypic Synonyms: Allium subhirsutum var. barcense Maire & Weiller, it is a bulbous geophyte, bulb solitary or paired, ovoid, covered with brown to pink non-pitted tunics. Leaves flat with ciliate margins, shorter than scare; leaf sheaths short. up to the ground level. Scapes 15-35 cm high; spathe pcrsistant, splitting into two valves; umbel-hemispherical few to many-flowered; pedice1s more or less equal, sepals white to white-cream; styles and filaments inserted.
