About Edama

Edama for Nature Conservation

It is an organization that is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and is officially registered with the Libyan Civil Society Commission and the Libyan Ministry of Environment. The organization emerged from conservative environmental movements seeking to protect, analyze, and monitor ecosystems against misuse or degradation. It works to promote environmental awareness, enhance citizens’ understanding of environmental issues, foster green values, and support sustainable development. Additionally, it encourages the use of environmentally friendly technologies and enhances community participation in environmental conservation.

Vision

  • Enhance and support measures and programs for protecting and conserving natural resources while mitigating risks to the local and national biosphere.
  • Advocate for prudent and forward-looking use of national natural resources, relying on environmentally sound and sustainable production methods in all plans and projects.

  • Plan and implement environmental programs, projects, and activities for nature conservation, as resources permit.
