General Appearance
Medicago littoralis Rohde ex Loisel., it is a small, annual herb, up to 20 cm long, prostrate, hairy or pubescent; leaflets obovate in corner, toothed at the top, stipules cut into thin strips. Yellow flowers, quite small, 2-4 on ridged peduncles longer than the leaf, pedicels shorter than calyx tube, wings shorter than the hull. Pods usually glabrous, short spiny or spineless, 4-6 mm in diam., with transverse veins nearly straight, scarcely anastomosing except near the sub marginal vein, marginal and sub marginal veins confluent at maturity and forming a single keel (not ± 3 keels) at margin. Seeds oblong in kidney shape.
