General Appearance
Euphorbia serrata L. it is glabrous, rhizomatous perennial herb with a ± woody base, reaching up to 45 cm in height. Cauline leaves alternate, sessile, and markedly toothed; lower leaves linear-oblong, upper leaves ovate-lanceolate. Pleiochasium usually with 3-5 rays, frequently forked once or twice; pleiochasial bracts ranging from ovate-lanceolate to suborbicular; dichasial bracts broadly ovate, yellowish. Fruit 5-6 x 4-5 mm, long-pedicellate, glabrous, markedly furrowed, dehiscing into three rounded cocci. Seeds c. 3 x 2 mm, carunculate, cylindrical, with a finely granular, grayish surface. Caruncle c. 0.8 x 1.5 mm, stipitate, with a truncate base.
