General Appearance
Sedum rubens L. it is a succulent annual, reddish herb, glandular-pubescent above. Stem 2.5-10 cm long, thin, cylindrical, leafy, simple or ramose, somewhat glaucous. Leaves oblong-linear, ± dense, 5-12 mm long, semi terete, alternate. Inflorescence cymose of 1-8 cymes. Flowers 5-merous, sessile, or sub sessile or with c. 1-1.5 mm pedicels. Sepals green or reddish, c. 1 mm long, triangular-ovate. Petals free, ± lanceolate, acuminate, 4-6 mm long, pink or whitish-pink and dark pink along the keel. Stamens 5 often alternate with the petals; anthers deep pinkish to blackish. Follicles, divergent at the base but sub erect above, glandular-tuberculate.
