General Appearance

Taraxacum bessarabicum (Hornem.) Hand.-Mazz., it is a perennial herb, up to 5-20 cm tall, stem ascending, glabrous or slightly woolly under the cap. Leaves in a basal rosette, lanceolate in outline, club-shaped. Capitulum  solitary, outer bracts linear, loosely appressed to the inner ones, with a light edge. Capitulum linguliform, yellow, reddish on the outside. The fruit is a gray achene with brownish fluff.

The native range of this species is C. Europe, Balkans, S. Russia, Libya (Cyrenaica), Syria, Iran, Afghanistan.
