General Appearance

Hyoseris lucida L. ̸ Homotypic Synonyms: Hyoseris radiata var. lucida (L.) E.A.Durand & Barratte , it is a short to medium perennial plant, hairy or almost hairless. the stem simple, sub erect, usually 10-30 cm, scarcely swollen in fruit. All the leaves basal, 50-250 x 10-50 mm, ascending or erect, oblanceolate, obtuse to acute, often long-petiolate divided into more or less ovate lobes.

MED. The native range of this species is N. Africa, Greece to Aegean Islands.

Distribution in Libya

Marmarica Plateau:  Reported in Marmarica north-eastern part of Libya by Pampanini 1930
