General Appearance
Galinsoga parviflora Cav., it is an annual herb. Stems up to 80 cm. branched, sparsely hairy or glabrous in the lower parts, simple and glandular hairy in the region of inflorescence; hairs erecto-patent. Leaves ovate, acute to acuminate, serrate, petiolate; petiole and young leaves on undersurfaces often hairy. Capitula sub globose, 3-5 mm in diam. Involucral bracts c. 4 mm, broadly ovate. Outer involucral bracts veined. Palea narrowly oblanceolate, 3-fid. Ray florets 5-6, 2 mm, basal tube villous; ligule 3 fid, white. Disc florets corolla c. 1 mm, tubular campanulate, 5-toothed. Cypsela 1-1.5 mm, dark coloured, rugose with erect setaceous-hairs on the ribs; pappus as long as or slightly shorter than the body of the cypsela, pale coloured, scales basally connate, erect, linear, with ciliate margins.
