General Appearance

Anthemis taubertii   E.A.Durand & Barratte, it is an annual herb, small, adpressed villous or setose pubescent. Stems solitary to few, up to (5-)10-20 cm, erecto-patent, branched, leafy in the lower parts. Leaves punctate glandular, 2-pinnatisect, crisp-hairy; lobes distant, linear, entire or 2-3 fid, acute with a callus, whitish mucro; base of the petiole with few lateral lobes. Capitula 2-2.5 (-3) cm in diam., radiate, solitary. Peduncles much elongated, aphyllous, striated. occasionally reddish, not or slightly thickened in fruit. Receptacle conical. Involucral bracts 2-3 rowed, imbricate, villous, with mid-nerve broadly herbaceous, margins broadly scarious, whitish with peripheri ± dark brown; outer ones ovate-oblong, obtuse-acute; inner ones with dilated apex and fimbriated margins. Palea persistent   fruit, obovate-oblong, convex-carinate, scarious; peripheral ones erose-truncate at the apex, with mid-nerve prolonged into short mucro; central ones attenuate above with ± long, excurrent mid-nerve. Marginal florets ligulate, female, basal tube laterally compressed; ligulcs white, obovate., oblong. apex truncate, 3-lobed. Central florets tubular, hermaphrodite, yellow; tube constricted in the middle, glabrous; lower half somewhat inflated in fruit.  Cypsela cylindro-obconical, marginal ones slightly incurved, whitish punctate between ribs, epappose; ribs smooth, white (? red-hairy), 7-10, confluent near the apex into a somewhat callus ring or in the central ones shortly produced above into an oblique auricle.
