General Appearance

Anacyclus radiatus Loisel., it is an annual herb. Stems up to 7-50 cm, simple or branched from the base, erect, with ascending lateral branches, sub glabrous or densely tomentose. Leaves generally tomentose; the lower ones tripinnatisect, rarely bipinnatisect; the upper ones bipinnatisect, rarely tripinnatisect, or pinnatisect. Capitula clustered in a subcorymbose panicle. Involucre 5-7.5 x 8-12 mm. Involucral bracts herbaceous, obtuse, generally tomentose; the middle and inner ones with a broad, lacerate, and scarious appendage. Interseminal bracts obcuneate, mucronate, coriaceous. Flowers hemiligulate in 1-2 rows, with a tube 2-3.5 mm long, articulated with the ovary, and a limb 3-17 mm long, yellow, sometimes with a purplish back. The florets have a tube 1.5-2 mm long and a limb 1.6-2.7 mm long, yellow. Achenes 2-3.5 x 1.8-2.5 mm, obovate; lateral wings 0.2-0.5 mm wide, extended above the base of the corolla tube. Pappus 0.1-0.4 mm long, forming a single unit with the lateral wings of the achene.
